Graduate of an accredited dental school and holds a current and valid NC State Dental Licensure. Requires the ability to work with and provide dental care to individuals of varied economic and social backgrounds. Ability to participate in a team approach with staff and administration to maintain and improve the delivery of quality dental care.
Examines and determines need for dental treatment of patients; treats patients by performing quality work required to establish and maintain good dental health by patient.
2. Helps institute good oral hygiene practices in patients.
3. Assists Dental Director in evaluating procedures followed in the dental clinic.
4. Represent Dental at Department Head meetings & Community Board meetings when asked by Dental Director.
5. Be responsible for maintaining accurate and legible dental patient records.
6. Assist Dental Director & Dental Staff with dental outreach.
7. Assist Dental Director in developing and implementing the C.Q.I. for the dental program.
8. Represent the Health Center to dental societies and other community and civic groups, when needed.
9. Complete all requirements to maintain a state dental license that is current and in good standing.
10. Keep current and implement state and federal laws, standards, and guidelines related to dental services.
11. Participate in continuing education seminars on and off site when appropriate and will enhance dental program.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned or needed.
Required Education.
Bachelor's degree prior to admission to dental school: doctoral degree in dental medicine or dental surgery; some dental specializations require completion of a residency.
